North Pole Community Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards Recognition
The North Pole Community Chamber of Commerce will be recognizing individuals and businesses that have contributed to the North Pole Community in 2024. Anyone can submit a recommendation directly to the Chamber. The deadline for submissions is November 30. The Annual Awards presentation will be held at the December Meet & Greet Luncheon at the Hotel North Pole on December 19 at noon.
Business of the Year
The purpose of this award is to honor a business that contributes to the economic growth and quality of life in the North Pole community. Criteria to be considered for this award include:
• Business practices contribute to a sense of cooperation across the entire business community
• Successful marketing or business strategy resulting in direct/indirect economic growth
• Business model includes community involvement increasing community quality of life
• Known for exceptional customer service

Citizen of the Year
The purpose of this award is to honor a citizen who has had a significant impact in the community and serves as a role model for the community at large. Criteria to be considered for this award include:
• Nominees must be a resident of, or work within the North Pole community
• Nominee is actively involved in the community
• Nominee has demonstrated a personal commitment to the benefit of the community
• Has positive and inspiring personal attributes that serve to encourage others
• Has performed an outstanding achievement or act of heroism
• The achievement(s) on which the nomination is based principally occurred in the last 12 months

Volunteer of the Year
The purpose of this award is to honor a Volunteer whose dedicated service has had a significant impact in the community that they serve and/or the community at large. Criteria to be considered for this award include:
• Nominees cannot be paid or compensated for their roles as a volunteer
• A person who continually volunteers his or her time, dedication and talents to the North Pole community and its citizens, to make North Pole a great place to live, work, play and learn.
• The nominee should exhibit a solid working relationship with peers and fellow volunteers
• Has positive and inspiring personal attributes that serve to encourage others
• The achievement(s) on which the nomination is based principally occurred in the last 12 months

Pioneer of the Year
The purpose of this award is to honor a long time North Pole community resident who has shown a legacy of having a positive impact in shaping our community. Criteria to be considered for this award include:
• North Pole community resident of 25 years or more; with an age of 55 or more
• During their residency, they have displayed a commitment to shaping a better/stronger community
• Positive personal history which exemplifies the values/way of life in the North Pole community
